Hey guys, in honour of beauty month I wanted to tell you how absolutely beautiful you are. You’re beautiful, and you’re beautiful, and you over there – yup– beautiful too! Believe it or not…actually, scratch the “not” and just believe!
Take a moment, like right now, to pause and love your bad-a*% self! Are you smiling? Doesn’t that feel good?! You’re amazing!
Ta-da! You have just practiced a little bit of self-love. I dare you to practice more, but be careful because you might start to let your inner beauty radiate outwards and you may even feel pretty great too!
Guys – it was actually Brit Linton herself who first opened up my eyes to self-love. She not only encouraged me to think I am beautiful but she taught me to practice being proud, rather than ashamed of that kind of self-love. Honestly, she’s really an amazing human. We all need a Brit in our lives.
Do you remember the last time someone gave you a compliment? Did you really smile and accept it whole-heartedly or did you shy away from their kindness? Coming from an introvert, I’m no stranger to shying away so maybe we can encourage one another to try the former :).
Giving a compliment is a powerful way to help someone believe in their beauty, while accepting compliments whole-heartedly also helps to truly celebrate our beauty. Because everyone is beautiful, so why not celebrate the beauty in us all?
This month, I would love to experiment with compliments and I’d really love for you to try this out too (let us know in the comments below how it turns out)! Here’s how the ideal experiment would work:
1. Observe something wonderful and beautiful about someone.
2. Complement them for it! SO simple!
You – myself – whoever – we all have the power to make someone’s day!
Pay it Forward
What is the most meaningful compliment you have ever received? Do you think that you can make someone feel beautiful with a few kind words? Can we all take a moment out of our busy lives to celebrate someone’s beauty?
All it takes is one compliment at a time to celebrate someone’s beauty!
