Yarr, Matey! This year’s Shipwrecked Pirate Halloween Party was a whale of a success! I re-watched Pirates of the Caribbean over Christmas last year & immediately knew that I wanted to create some sort of cursed pirate/under the sea party vibe for 2019. Luckily all of our landlubber friends got “on board” & completely embraced the shipwrecked concept. Everyone came dressed to theme – we had pirates, jellyfish, sharks, sailors, parrots, captains – the rum was a flowin’ & the pirate tunes were a hoppin’. Below are some of my favourite photos from our party!

PS. I’ve also included a link to my Amazon Shop at the end of this blog so that you can throw your very own shipwrecked pirate party!

Photo Diaries: My Shipwrecked Pirate Halloween Party

UGH really loved this vignette. We already had this wooden bucket which worked well as a treasure chest. Our treasure was a combination of gold coins, gems, pearls, seashells, & beads & Christmas ornaments that I re-purposed from my Murder at Mardi Gras Halloween Party.

I ALWAYS try & re-use items from Halloween parties prior… unfortunately we had a flood which destroyed a good majority of my Halloween décor pieces. It was devastating to say the least… but onward & upward.

Polly wanna cracker?

I really love makeup-heavy costumes. One because I find them to be super effective & two because they’re super cheap; all you need is a little costume makeup & everything else you likely already have in your cosmetic bag. This year’s Cursed Pirate costume set me back a whopping $5.

My handsome Black Beard hubby!

My cousin is an INCREDIBLE baker & helped me create these “Treasure Chest” cupcakes.

We had a “Pirate Rum Cocktail Contest”! When guests arrived they had to create a rum cocktail that would later be judged. We provided a light rum, dark rum, whisky, brandy, liquors, juices, fruits herbs etc. The only rule? No googling. Once everyone completed their cocktail, each guest sampled each beverage & ranked it according to taste.

This underwater light projector MADE the whole “Shipwrecked” theme. I really wanted it to feel like we were under the sea & it wouldn’t have been nearly as effective if we didn’t have this fixture. You can purchase it from my Amazon Shop HERE.

Host Your Own Shipwrecked Pirate Party

Below are some pirate-appropriate party décor pieces that are available on my Amazon Shop page. I’m particularly fond of the foil gold bar favour boxes… I wish I saw these before I planned my party! Happy party planning!
