“Coffee is a language in itself”
I am seriously one of those people that absolutely NEEDS to have their morning coffee on the daily. No coffee = A surefire way to guarantee that my day is spent nursing an endless string of headaches – no, this is not a joke – it’s that bad. I completely understand that this is a wildly unhealthy relationship with coffee… especially when I used to be a “double, double” type of gal. However, I’m slowly starting to make some slight adjustments in the whole caffeine department! Baby steps you guys! My new-found obsession, thanks to this sweltering summer, happens to be a “better for you” version of iced coffee.. of which I’m sharing with all of you today! Enjoy!
“Better For You” Iced Coffee
- 1 Scoop of Protein Powder – I used N8ked’s, Chocolate Coconut Protein Powder (20g of protein, Non GMO & Gluten/Lactose-Free). For a plant-based option, try Vega Essentials Shake – Chocolate (also 20g of protein). This will be your sweetening element; not to mention, this offers up a unique alternative to your protein smoothies!
- 1 Cup of Coffee
- Ice Cubes
- Almond OR Coconut Milk – perfect cream substitute… especially coconut milk – I find it to be a bit creamier!!
- Add ice cubes to a cup
- Pour coffee into the cup (be sure that you’ve let the coffee cool to room temperature, prior to pouring it into the cup)!
- Stir in protein powder
- Add desired amount of almond or coconut milk
